Ukraine parliament sets up commission to look into Naftogaz raid

KIEV, March 5 (RIA Novosti) - Ukraine's parliament voted overwhelmingly on Thursday to set up a commission to investigate the circumstances surrounding yesterday's raid of national energy company Naftogaz by masked Security Service officers.
ウクライナ議会は木曜日圧倒的多数で、昨日の国立エネルギー会社ナフトガスが、覆面をした安全保障局の当局者に襲撃された状況を調査する委員会を設置した。

A total of 391 lawmakers in the 450-seat Supreme Rada voted in favor.
最高ラダの450の出席者のうち、391人の議員の賛成を得た。


The SBU security service, overseen by President Viktor Yushchenko, raided the company as it was due to make a payment for Russian natural gas. The service has accused Naftogaz of illegally diverting 6.3 billion cubic meters of gas bought from Russia.
ビクトール・ユシュチェンコ大統領によって監督されている安全保障局は、ロシアの天然ガスに対する支払い義務があるとして、その会社を捜索した。


Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who oversees Naftogaz, fiercely criticized the raid, saying it was aimed at disrupting payments and causing panic.
ナフトガスを監督するユリア・ティモシェンコ首相は、その捜索を猛烈に非難して曰く、それは、(天然ガス代金の)支払いを遅らせ、パニックを引き起こす目的のものである、と非難した。


The agents searched for the original copies of January's gas deal with Russia, but Naftogaz later said they had left without the documents.
その機関(安全保障局)は、ロシアとの一月のガス協定の原本を捜索した。しかし、ナフトガスは後に、彼等は書類を手に入れること無しに、去ったと言った。


On Thursday, the Security Service searched the main office of Ukrtransgaz, Naftogaz's affiliate that runs the country's pipelines, despite a court ruling that had barred any investigation.
木曜日、安全保障局は、裁判所によっていかなる捜索も禁止されているにもかかわらず、国のパイプラインが走っている、ウクライナトランスガスやナフトガスの関係先の主な事務所を捜索した。

今回のユシュチェンコの行為は、ウクライナ議会の大多数と、国民の大多数とを、

敵に回したようだ。

ガス取引の仲介業者、ロスウクルエネルゴ社を、ガス取引から外された恨みは、

ユシュチェンコから、理性を奪ったようだ。

ユシュチェンコは、もはや、ウクライナ国内に居場所がないほどに、

追い詰められたと言えよう。
